Philip Khinda is a nationally recognized securities litigator and corporate adviser with over 25 years of experience guiding public and private companies, their boards, asset management firms and financial institutions through high-stakes governance, regulatory and law enforcement matters. He regularly counsels clients on risk management issues, internal investigations, and emerging areas such as AI, crypto and digital assets. Known for resolving complex and high-stakes government investigations quietly and effectively, no client he has represented from the outset of an investigation has ever been sued by the SEC or indicted.

Mr. Khinda leads Khinda Advisory, based in Washington, D.C. and the Abu Dhabi Global Market, serving clients globally on their most challenging legal, governance, compliance, and strategic matters.

He led the CalPERS Special Review, recovering over $200 million for the US’s largest state pension fund and negotiating strategic partnerships with firms like Apollo Global Management and Ares Management.  His work has shaped landmark governance and asset management practices, earning recognition in case studies at Columbia and Georgetown, where he has also served as a law professor for two decades.

A former SEC enforcement attorney, Morgan Stanley analyst, and partner at a top Wall Street law firm, Mr. Khinda is a fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel and has advised on major matters involving Enron, JPMorgan, UBS, State Street, and PIMCO, among others. He is consistently ranked among the US’s top advisers on securities enforcement, white-collar defense, and crisis management by Best Lawyers, The Legal 500, Lawdragon, and The National Law Journal.

He is a former Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Corporate Governance Committee, and Chair of its Ethics and Investigations Subcommittee, a post he held for over 15 years.   

Mr. Khinda holds dual US and Swiss citizenship, and is also fluent in French.  He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Columbia University.
