Antonio Postorino is a young entrepreneur with a long resume of clients that you might recognize! Some of his clients are the famous Real Housewives, social media influencers, beauty brands, luxury clothing brands, and international real estate agencies to name a few. He owns Unfiltered PR based in Boca Raton, Florida. Naturally, we connected over Instagram after I went on a long Instagram stalk and landed on his profile.
Someone slid into someone’s DMS and a month later we were having dinner together at Lola 41 in Palm Beach. He brings an energy and vibrancy that is contagious and I'm excited to share this interview with you.
Let’s dive in: 10 questions with Unfiltered PR Owner, Antonio Postorino!
1. You shocked me when you told me you're only 21. When did you start Unfiltered PR?
It's always a wow factor people are surprised to know someone so young owns a flourishing business. You know it's funny I was just thinking of this. Technically, I started Unfiltered PR while I was in college, I didn't know what I was doing in terms of ‘running a business’ but I continue to figure it out daily.
2. How did you land your first PR Client?
My first PR client was myself! I was working with a local dog rescue in New Jersey from the time I was 11 years old until I was in college, I would run large adoption events and shopping fundraisers. I contacted a local newspaper, did an interview and boom my name was slashed all around town for my accomplishments.
3. What do you love most about what you do?
I love that I can help take a brand or person to the next level. It's very rewarding to see. People come to me lost in what direction to go in and if I can have a part of their journey that makes my day.
4. Do you have an industry you’re most passionate about or like to represent?
I'm a sucker for a reality star, that's my niche. I love to help them develop a personal and professional brand. There are a ton of opportunities to take them beyond only being on TV.
5. Can you tell us about your most pain in the ass client (you can leave off names), I have a feeling you have stories.
I have MANY stories, unfortunately, I have not built a reputable reputation for giving out tea to anyone. I truly am lucky and have not had any over the top pains. I can deal with a lot, when you deal with housewives for a living you can deal with anything.
6. Have you ever had to fire a client? How do you know when it’s time to part ways?
I always have a timeline on each contract and every few months. If things aren't going the way we both saw it's normally mutually agreed upon that we part ways. If I were to see any client tomorrow current or past I would go up to them and chat. I don't like bad blood.
7. How did you end up with a cameo on Real Housewives?
I'm personally friends with 90% of my clients so I get invited to things that happen in their real life. For me to be hanging with them is very natural so it's not weird if I'm in town and I get invited to film an event. In regards to this season of Real Housewives of Orange County, you may have seen me a few times. What you didn't see was a really funny scene between Gina Kirschenheiter while she was getting her hair done. It was TV gold.
8. How are you goal setting for 2021?
I'm big into manifesting, I've done it my whole life that's how I've gotten to where I am today (that and hard work of course). I think the best tip for goal setting is to be realistic, don't set goals to be a millionaire if you're sitting on your ass spending money you don't have yet.
9. You share some drool worthy food spots in the Florida region on your Instagram account, can you give us your top 3 favorites in the Boca Raton area?
I eat out 75% of my meals.
My favorite places to dine are Loch Bar in Mizner (great seafood), Lola 41 in Palm Beach it's chic and always a great meal. Cut 432 amazing steak house in Delray Beach. Great food in Florida is at our fingertips so I take advantage.
10. Can you leave us with parting words of wisdom for others your age who are scared to go off on their own?
I have a bunch. Less thinking, more doing. Take risks, worst case you're not a millionaire overnight. Say yes to everything because you never know what opportunity will come from the most random moment.
