There is no such thing as too many cookies on National Cookie Day! Celebrate by supporting some of our local businesses like The Cookie Factory, Cookie Therapy ALB, and Upstate Cookie Shack.
Human Rights Day (#HumanRightsDay)
Nobel Prize Day (#NobelPrize)
Adopted in 1948, Human Rights Day is a celebration of the milestone that proclaims the inalienable rights to which everyone is entitled regardless of race, color, religion, sex, and so much more. This year’s theme relates to “Equality.”
Additionally, December 10th is Nobel Prize Day! This day recognizes the annual prize established by Alfred Nobel. To observe the day you can watch the Nobel Prize ceremonies live online or discover more about the Nobel Prize and Alfred Nobel himself.
International Mountain Day (#InternationalMountainDay)
National App Day (#NationalAppDay)
As an Adirondack 46er, I had to include International Mountain Day. Participate by sharing a photo or story from one of your favorite hikes, and show your appreciation for all that mother nature has to offer.
December 11th is also National App Day, which encourages us to explore all the possibilities apps provide us. Since apps became available, they have continued to change the way we work, live, and play. Wondering how you can observe #NatinonalAppDay? Share your favorite apps that help keep you connected or have revolutionized your life!
December 18: Super Saturday (#SuperSaturday)
Super Saturday (also known as Panic Saturday) is the name that was given to the Saturday before Christmas Eve, referring to its role as the last day of the Christmas shopping season. For many shops it is one of the busiest days of the year - and don’t forget to support local small businesses!
December 21: First Day of Winter (#WinterSolstice) & Crossword Puzzle Day (#CrosswordPuzzleDay)
Winter is officially here! December 21st marks the first official day of winter. Snap a picture of what your first day of winter looks like and share it using the hashtag.
It also happens to be Crossword Puzzle Day, so if the cold weather is keeping you inside commemorate the day with a challenging word game.
December 24: Christmas Eve (#ChristmasEve)
Christmas is so close, you can almost feel it! Whether you’re spending time with friends and family, wrapping last-minute presents, or cozying up by the fire, share a photo of how you’re spending Christmas Eve, and don’t forget to include the hashtag!
December 25: Christmas (#ChristmasDay, #MerryChristmas)
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us at Social Static! December 25 is one of the biggest holidays of the year spent waking up early to open presents, spending time with loved ones, and eating all of our favorite holiday comfort foods. Snap a picture to remember all of the great memories you made and share using the hashtag to celebrate with others as well.
December 27: No Interruptions Day (#NoInterruptionsDay)
Now that the holiday season is over, I think we all deserve an interruption-free day. No Interruptions Day is on the last workday of the year, set aside to get organized and clean up with your workspace in preparing for the new year. Here are some of the things many us tackle on these quest end-of-the-year-days: answer un-answered emails, organize our inbox, update our calendar for the new year.
December 29: Tick Tock Day (#TickTockDay)
No, we’re not talking about the app TikTok… This is your final reminder to complete and unfinished business that may need addressing before the end of the year. So if you procrastinated on No Interruptions Day, this day is for you!
December 31: New Year’s Eve (#NYE, #NYE2021)
Just like that, we’re out with the old and in with the new. As we gather with friends and family to celebrate the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, take a moment to reflect on your favorite memories from the last year and set goals for the new year.
